Got fiction, poetry, memoir, drama, literary nonfiction, comics, visual art? Send it our way! We'll post it right here. It will also be considered for our next anthology, to be released spring 2013.
We are always looking for new material...
Just make sure it is your original work (that means you wrote it, not 'borrowed' it from another author, whether online or in print). You are welcome to publish under a pen name (that means a name you've chosen as your author's name).
Click here to submit. Go on. Do it. Be brave. You're worth it.
Our editorial board is made up of Alaskan teens and WYAK volunteers. We work hard to give each submission careful attention and consideration. You can expect to hear back from us within a few weeks.
Please limit your submissions to 20 pages or fewer. We are happy to see novel excerpts as long as they can stand alone.
Before you submit, make sure that:
- You are 20 years old or younger
- Currently live in Alaska
- Your work is completely your own and has never been published
Interested in joining our editorial board?
Please email a short biography that describes your writing background and why you're interested in joining the Alaska Out Loud team along with a short writing sample (anything goes!) to writeyoungAK@gmail.com
We welcome involvement from young writers around the state!
